Orbit Asset provides standard dashboards for your patents, trademarks and budget. If custom dashboards is needed, please contact your Questel’s Key Account Manager.


Patent Dashboard Example


It is possible to filter the results (the result of the filters is displayed in the right column) :

  • Date 
  • Patent status (Filing is in progress, Pending, Granted, Abandoned, Expired, Lapsed, Refused, )
  • Tags (list of client family tags or patent tags) 
  • Country of filing
  • Inventors (by clicking on the widget Inventors)
  • Owners (by clicking on the widget Owners)


It is also possible to export all the dashboards in PDF format ("Export to PDF" button). Each graphic can also be exported independently in image format (PNG) and the tables in PDF format.

 

You will find below a description for each charts:

 

  • Name of the graph : Alive Family to date

Description : This indicator provides the number of patent families still alive in the portfolio. An "Alive" family is a family with at least one patent still in force (i.e. associated with a “Filing is in progress", "Pending" or "granted" status)

Filter impact :

  • Tag : Limitation of the calculation based on the patent associated to the selected tag value
  • Countries : Selecting one or more countries will limit the result to families with at least one alive patent filed in one of the selected countries. For example, if you select US and JP, you will get the number of alive families with at least one US patent or one JP patent alive in the family.

 


  • Name of the graph : Alive filings to date

Description : This indicator provides the number of patent (or provisional, or utility model) still alive in the portfolio. An "Alive" patent is a patent associated to status “Filing is in progress”, "Pending" or "granted".

Description : This indicator shows the average age of patents in force (i.e. "Pending" or "granted"). The age of a patent is calculated as follows: Sum of (Current date - Application Date) / Number of paten.

Description : This graph represents the number of new family filed per year. The data is based on the number of priority patent filed per year and is independent of the status of these priority patents.

Description : This graph represents the number of new patent filed per year. The data is based on the number of patent filed per year (based on “application date”) and is independent of the status of these patents.

Description : This widget allows you to list the patents in the portfolio. As a standard, the list is sorted according to the "Last modification date" (a modification is a validated change on an asset, such as the modification or addition of a publication number). It is also possible to sort by "Asset reference", "Title", "Country", "application date" or "expiration date" by clicking on the header. If you click on a link in the "Asset Reference" column, the patent record will appear.
