This tab allows you to analyze all the rejections for the current examiner (or the same art unit) to extract reasons for rejection and patents cited in the rejections in order for you to detect specific patterns and anticipate specific risks.

  • Filter by cited patents, examiner or art unit, reasons for rejection, law firms and applicant to have statistics on the applicant next stage and final outcome. 
  • Narrow down to a couple of relevant rejections and download the corresponding documents.


The system automatically generates a summary indicating for the patent in question the number of office action already filed and the patents cited (see below "Summary").






The user can choose to run the analysis on the whole art unit (just uncheck the box named "Limit to the same examiner ")

For a precise analysis or simply to zoom in on a cited patent (for example the most used patent by an examiner to obtain the list of corresponding office actions), it is possible to add filters. The additional filters are available in the section "Additional filters".

  • For adding a new filter, just click on an element with a grey background (cited patent, type of rejection...) 
  • For deleting an existing filter, just click on the wanted filter and it will be removed from the additional filter section.


You will find below a summary of the charts/tables available on this page:




1) Examiner details


This first graph is a reminder to clarify the statistical basis. Two options are available:

  • Limited to the current examiner
  • Full corresponding art unit 

This widget indicate the statistical basis on which all the filters and graphs will be applied.



2) Grant rate


Indication of the grant rate for the selected filters. 


3) Final outcome


Like the grant rate, this graph corresponds to the number of applications examined and their status for the chosen filters. This allows us to contextualize the "Grant rate" in the number of applications that allowed its calculation. 


4) Applicant next stages


This graph allows you to visualize and count the different responses made on the chosen basis of rejections (based on the filters).


5) Most cited patents in the rejections by numbers of application


This listing allows you to determine which priority arts are most often used (for the selected filters). For example, it allows you to see if an examiner has a "habit" of referring to a particular patent and possibly preparing for it. 


6) Biggest customer numbers


The customer numbers are relative (in general) to the law firms handling the cases. This allows you to see which law firms are the most relevant in a field and compare their results.

7) Biggest applicants


By listing the applicants for a particular filter, it allows you to compare your results with those of your competitors. 


8) List of rejection


The list of rejections allows to see the real patents behind the statistics. Available column in this table:

  • Rejection (A link allows to access the register and the texts of the rejections)
  • Rejection date
  • Rejection type (filterable)
  • Applicant (filterable, can allow you to see how a competitor has handled an embarrassing cited patent for example) 
  • Examiner
  • Customer number (filterable, can allows you to analyze a law firm results for example)
  • Representative
  • Reason for rejection (filterable)
  • Cited patent in the rejection (filterable)
  • Applicant next stage
  • Office next stage
  • Final outcome
