Without prior modification, and if the laws engine is activated, all automatically created tasks are assigned to the asset's "Case manager" (or, if it has not been filled in, to a user chosen by default).

The user can modify this rule and customize it task by task by clicking on the "Auto-Docketing" option in the "Admin" tab.

This feature allows admin's users to define which tasks will be auto created by the system and who will be the owner of the auto created tasks. For each task you can modify the default assignee.

Activate / Disable auto docketing task:

It is possible to activate or disable the creation of one or more tasks. For example, if users do not want the "File National Stage Applications (42 MB. Countries)" task to be created for a PCT, they can disable it by changing the status to "Disable".

It is possible to modify the status one by one (in line modification in the table) or in bulk (select the tasks via the left column and click on the "Edit status" button.

Select the task's owner:

It is possible to define who will be the owner of the automatically created tasks with the "Owner" column.

The following options are available

  • Case manager : The task will be assigned to the "case manager" of the case
  • In-house attorney : The task will be assigned to the "In-house attorney" of the case
  • A specific user : The task will be assigned to the selected user

It is possible to modify the owner one by one (in line modification in the table) or in bulk (select the tasks via the left column and click on the "Edit owner(s)" button.

Other definitions:

Default task ower email: If the rule should be assigned to the "case manager" or "in-house attorney" AND these roles are ot define on the case (Patent or trademark), then this task will be assigned automatically by default to this user.

Update auto docketing events and tasks : This action will launch a batch to update auto docketing events and tasks based on your portfolio. This batch does not delete any task and is already launched automatically every week, on Monday.

Reset auto docketing events and tasks : This action will delete all existing auto docketing events and associated tasks and recreate them from scratch. You will lose all the changes that have been made to these events (description, uploaded documents, owners, status...).

It is important to note that:

  • "Custom task" added in a auto docketed event will be deleted.
  • "Custom task" added in a "Custom event" will be kept.

Refresh list : It can happen that a rule has been automatically created and does not appear in the list (for example if a new rule has been created in the engine recently). To make this rule appear in the list, you can click on this button. This action will create a new line for each none listed rules. Existing rules will not be modified.
